“Τεισιά” in Greek comes from the word walls, large vertical rocks that really resemble walls, rising from the edges of Madari’s peak. Madari’s peak, at 1613 meters is the second highest peak of the island after the Mount Olympus.
Our ride starts from the village of Spilia towards Platania through a pine forest. We then climb to Kyperounta and Chandria, and then to the top of Madaris peak where one can enjoy the unique view that offers wonderful pictures of Mesaoria plain and Morphou bay up to Larnaca and Limassol.
We continue descending to the village of Polystipos and Livadia to get to the E4 trail which leads to Lagoudera. Immediately after is the Holy Monastery of Panagia of Araka, built in the 12th century. The Monastery is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Finally, we ascend from Saranti and through the E4 trail return to Spilia.
